The Domain Name Commission (DNCL) manages and administers the .nz domain name space - protecting the rights and interests of those who use it. 

Our work sees us:  

  • develop and maintain the policies that underpin the .nz domain name space 
     
  • authorise .nz Registrars
     
  • monitor the health & competitiveness of the .nz authorised Registrar market
     
  • handle any complaints relating to .nz domain names
     
  • administer an independent Dispute Resolution Service.

    Individual Registrant Privacy Option (IRPO)

    From 28 March all .nz authorised registrars are required to offer IRPO to registrants who request it. To be eligible for the service, the registrant must be an individual not in significant trade. For more information, click here.
