Summary list of registrars << back
Published at 4:55pm, 23rd September 2008

Organisations in the list below are all authorised registrars for .nz domain names.

You can access an alphabetical list of .nz authorised registrars by clicking here. JavaScript has been used to present the list below in random order. If you cannot see the list above because you have JavaScript disabled in your browser, please click here to see the list.

# The SRS supports IPV6 Glue Records. An 'offered' next to the registrars name denotes that this registrar has the capability to update the SRS with IPV6 glue. You can find more information on IPV6 glue records here.

As organisations are authorised they will be added to this list. When registrars connect to the SRS, information linking to their Internet sites and their contact number will be provided in the list above. Registrars are able to connect at any time, and registrants are free to select who they want to manage their domain name registration services. Registration options, prices and services may vary between registrars.

Authorised registrars are required to comply with all published .nz policies and procedures. If anyone believes a registrar has breached these conditions, they must first take the matter up with the registrar involved and give them a chance to resolve the issue. Anyone not happy with the outcome can make a formal complaint to the DNC using the form located on the DNC website.

'Closed' Registrars

There may be situations where, due to the nature of the registrar's business, an authorised registrar will not offer their domain name services to the general public.

Catalyst IT, Knossos Networks and AA Guides Ltd have been authorised as .nz registrars by the DNC and have connected to the SRS. However, their registrar activities are restricted to registrants who are their clients and primarily utilising their non-registry services. The State Services Commission has also been authorised as a registrar for .govt.nz domain names.

The DNC is also a closed .nz authorised registrar, to protect the domain names which are an integral part of the .nz domain name registration system.
