.nz Statistics - by Calendar Year

This document records the total number of domain names registered, by calendar year, up to the end of 2006. The total number of names registered has increased from 560 on 31 December 1994 to 348,769 on 31 December 2008. By far the largest growth has been in the .co.nz second level domain (see Table 1).

The percentage growth rate peaked in the year to 31 December 1995 (see Table 2). The largest numerical growth rate was achieved in the year to 31 December 2007.
